Being unable to stand for long periods of time can cause problems to appear in various bodily systems. The primary function of the stand-up bed is to enable patients to maintain a passive upright state which can help to keep various systems of the user in a normal physiological state.

This stand-up bed can be used in stand-up rehabilitation to gradually increase the standing angle for patients who are long-term immobilized, have brain injuries from car accidents or postural hypotension, tend to feel dizzy when getting out of bed, cannot sit down or stand up or even those who experience shock to allow them to experience blood pressure changes at different angles of inclination.

The stand-up bed may be adjusted to different angles of inclination so patients can experience physical, blood pressure and heartbeat changes at different angles. The pedals can also give patients who want foot stimulation a chance to do some rehabilitation exercises like knee-lift steps, stationary squats, tiptoeing and calf raises when in the stand-up position.

The stand-up bed is not suitable for use by patients with severe cases of osteoporosis. Patients who have recently suffered a stroke have unstable vital signs and should not use the stand-up bed. If there are lower limb fractures that have not been treated properly, the patient should refrain from using the stand-up bed. However, patients with lower limb fractures whose non-affected areas have completely healed may use the stand-up bed but need to be very careful when the bone is still in a state of healing.
